The Kingsport Antique and Rod Club held the annual Wilderness
Trail Rod Run on Saturday May 23, 2009 at the historic
Train Station in downtown Kingsport, TN. There were 259
cars registered consisting of Antiques, Muscle Cars, Race
Cars, Street Rods, and Classics. The corporate sponsor
for this year's show was Rainbow Motors. Live entertainment
was provided by the “P.F. Flyers”, who performed
Oldies & Rock & Roll music for the crowd. Antique
shops were open on Broad Street for participants and spectators
to browse, and Food vendors were present and resturants
were open with an abundance of wonderful food. Games were
played and both Child and Adult winners were presented
with hand made trophies and cash with over $1000 given
away to participants and numerous door prizes were presented
to lucky winners through out the afternoon. Plaques were
presented to some lucky winners for things like the Presidents
Pick, Lady’s Pick. Ray Presnell, NSRA East Tennessee
Safety Inspector was also present to give an award of
Merit to the Street Rod of his choice. There were also
six brand new bicycles given away to some lucy youngsters
who were enjoying the festivities.
